Two weeks ago, on Saturday 3rd October, we completed our twelfth Food Parcel Run and hit another major milestone as we have now delivered 521,136 days of food. To date this program has delivered over 330 tons of food and essential supplies to over 4,000 people at a cost of US$1.2million. Antigua has been most appreciative but not nearly as appreciative as the citizens who desperately need this source of food.

Our incredible army of volunteers gets together every two weeks, regardless of the weather, to pack over 30 tons of food on each working day, as well as essential supplies. And then they deliver it all to the most needy.

We have been inundated with thank you notes, letters, texts and WhatsApps. Here is an example:

“On behalf of my children and I, we would like to say thank you so much for the food donation, it has been a blessing, you have fed my children. It has been a difficult task due to this Covid-19 Pandemic… Again thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Continue to stay safe, May God continue to Bless you and Jumby Bay family thanks again… Have a great weekend”

Although the Food Parcel program was due to terminate at the end of October (in the hopes that tourism returned to more normal levels), we are now looking to possibly continue through to Christmas-time, albeit at a reduced level.

Many thanks to you all for your great support of this very necessary endeavour. We welcome any of your input – either financial (by donating here) or comments and questions!
